Aston Martin has never had the easiest of financial journeys, and that’s no different today than it ever was in the David Brown days. Only last week we reported that Aston Martin made a thumping big loss in 2012, despite its cars having iconic status and generally considered to be the most beautiful cars made. But there is light at the end of the very long tunnel of AML’s financial woes, and that revolves round the recent investment by Investindustrial in Aston Martin and its subsequent tie-in with AMG.
Mazda plans to recall about 514,000 vehicles to repair power-steering systems that fail suddenly. The recall will affect the Mazda 3 and the Mazda 5 manufactured in Japan from 2007 to 2008, according to a report in Reuters. Currently, Mazda has filed recalls for 215,000 vehicles in the United States and more than 10,000 in China.
Lest you think that Hennessey Performance Engineering will only tune up your Dodge Viper or Cadillac CTS-V, feast your eyes on this little number showing one of the company's souped-up SUVs taking on a 2011 Nissan GT-R. It's really an unfair fight: The Cadillac Escalade sports a 6.2-liter V8 which in stock form makes about 400 hp. But Hennessey, not looking for a beatdown, drops a twin-turbocharged 427 cubic-inch LSX engine with high-flow cylinder heads, intake and exhaust upgrades, a performance camshaft and a laundry list of other parts to bring the truck's output to 1,000 hp.
